Gilberte Pascal

Founding Principal

Ms. Pascal is an eighteen year veteran of Title I schools in both Henry County, Georgia and Spanish Harlem, New York City.  She has served as a first, second, third and fifth grade teacher, reading coach, grade leader, mentor teacher and instructional lead teacher. She earned her bachelor's of arts degree in elementary education and psychology at Hunter College, where she also took her first master of science degree in early childhood education. She earned her second master's degree from Brooklyn College as a literacy teacher. She is currently working toward her specialist degree in educational leadership at Columbus State University. Her two children are, sadly, now too old to enroll in a Kindezi school.

Heidi Williams-Cooper

Assistant Principal and Instructional Coach for Grades K and 1, Interim AP for Grade 2

Ms. Williams-Cooper joined Kindezi Old Fourth Ward for the 2015-2016 school year as a founding kindergarten math and science teacher. Additionally, she served as the Kindergarten Chairperson, Gardening Coordinator, and assisted in writing curriculum. Prior to Kindezi, Ms. William-Cooper taught in the City Schools of Decatur for six years. She received her bachelor's degree in Leadership and Administration from Beulah Heights University.

Ryan Free

Assistant Principal and Instructional Coach for Grades 4 and 5, Interim AP for Grade 3

Mr. Free joined Kindezi Old Fourth Ward for the 2015-2016 school year as a 5th grade ELA and Social Studies Teacher.  Mr. Free also served as the Co-Director of the Tutorial Program for the 2015-2016 school year. Prior to Kindezi, Mr. Free taught for three years in Washington D.C. as a fourth and fifth grade teacher at Two Rivers Public Charter School, and three years teaching fifth grade in Barrow County, Georgia. He received his bachelor's degree in early childhood education from The University of Georgia in 2009. 

Steven Posey

Assistant Principal and Instructional Coach for Grades 6 and 7

Mr. Posey joined Kindezi in 2015 as a founding teacher of Kindezi Old Fourth Ward. At Kindezi, Mr. Posey taught math and science in both fourth and sixth grades. He also served as the Director of the Tutorial Program and was the Grade Level Chairperson for sixth grade. Mr. Posey was recognized as a Teacher of Distinction in 2016. Prior to joining Kindezi, Mr. Posey taught in both the Griffin-Spalding County and Clayton County school systems. In 2012, he worked on the campaign to re-elect President Obama. Mr. Posey is originally from Alabama, and he received his bachelors degree from Xavier University of Louisiana.
