Atlanta Public Schools approves Kindezi School Charter
At an Atlanta Public Schools Board of Education legislative meeting this past Monday, May 12, school board members unanimously voted to approve the Kindezi School charter petition. Needless to say, we are thrilled! Given that our school model and charter have been approved, we will definitely be opening our doors to students aged K-3 in August of 2009.
This wonderful news also means that the Kindezi team and supporters have a lot of work to do in the upcoming 15 months to prepare Kindezi School for opening. The most immediate priority is to begin formal conversations with the congregation and board of trustees from the West Hunter Street Baptist Church in Historic West End; we hope to utilize unused space there for our school facility.
